This is a song that protests about the Vietnam War. It was written in 1970 and it had a great success. It is a very sincere song where it explains the horrors of the war.
“I despise, cos it means destruction of innocent lives, war means tears to thousands of mother's eyes, when their sons gone to fight and lose their lives.”
Different singers have sung and versioned over the years, such as: Bruce Springsteen and E. Street Band. It has also been used as a soundtrack in movies.
I like the song because the singer expresses his opinion on what war is and the harm it does. Because many times we do not give it importance because it does not happen to us.
And you, what do you think?
